Overview
A 1/2 Day retreat book reader's dream of a day hosted at the Juniper Lodge and Treehouses on a mountain with books by the fireplace and brunch while perusing a bookstore on a bus.
A Day Retreat in the Books
Join Jacki and friends for a ditch day within the pages (yes, I mean ditch your work and come read) filled with all the library vibrations! This in-person event is a moment to unplug, recharge, and connect with like-minded folks. Expect a mix of chill activities, great company, and silent reading.
Did you know:
Reading for just 6 minutes can reduce stress by up to 68%, even faster than listening to music or taking a walk.
The average reader can travel to over 4,000 new worlds in a lifetime through books.
People who read fiction regularly score higher on empathy and emotional intelligence.
Your brain doesn’t fully distinguish between lived experience and vividly read experience which means books literally expand your life.
Reading before bed improves sleep quality by up to 42% (!!).
Libraries are one of the last remaining free public spaces where you can exist without the expectation of spending money.
Bibliosmia is the love of the smell of books, and yes, it’s a real thing.
Readers tend to have stronger intuition and pattern recognition — because stories train the brain to detect meaning.
